Jordan dispatches 60-truck humanitarian convoy to Gaza, more deliveries expected in coming days

AMMAN — A new humanitarian aid convoy consisting of 60 trucks loaded with food supplies departed on Sunday for the war-torn Gaza Strip. This convoy, which falls within Jordan's ongoing efforts to support Palestinians amid worsening humanitarian conditions, was organised in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), the World Food Programme (WFP), and World Central Kitchen, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. This latest delivery reflects Jordan's commitment to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and provide urgent relief to Gaza's residents, especially given the severe shortages of basic necessities caused by the ongoing blockade. The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) coordinated the convoy in cooperation with several official bodies and humanitarian organisations, as part of a series of Jordanian initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of civilians in the besieged Strip. The shipment addresses immediate food needs and will be followed by additional deliveries in the coming days, Petra added.

IDF to allow foreign countries to drop aid in Gaza Strip

Additionally, the World Central Kitchen organization has begun operating its kitchens inside Gaza again. The IDF announced that it will allow foreign countries to drop aid into the Gaza Strip starting on Friday, Army Radio reported, citing a senior military source. "When the UN wants to, it can. After criticism earlier this week, it suddenly transferred hundreds of trucks, despite claiming it was unable to do so until then," the source told Army Radio. "According to all IDF estimates, there has been no change in the amount of food entering the Gaza Strip in recent weeks, and Hamas's hunger campaign in Gaza is timed." Adding to these reports, Israel has approached the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, requesting that they immediately reinstate the airdrops in the area, as was done in earlier stages of the campaign. The government hopes that the Jordanians will lead the first airdrops, according to Israeli media. Hamas is using hunger in Gaza as a negotiation strategy The IDF acknowledged on Friday that while there is no starvation in Gaza, food security is at a dangerous, sensitive point and that it is working hard to keep food security balanced. The military noted that there were sensitive periods for food security during the 21-month war. However, when each period of food insecurity arose in Gaza, the IDF worked hard with humanitarian organizations and NGOs to address the issue. At this time, the IDF is attempting to persuade the UN and other aid organizations to dispatch approximately 900 aid trucks to distribution points. It should be noted that the aid trucks are on the Gaza side of the border and have been approved by the IDF. The military argued that the reason there is a current hunger crisis in Gaza is not because food security is worse now than at any other point during the war, but because Hamas is highlighting the issue now during ceasefire negotiations. During the talks, Hamas has been trying to eliminate the GHF in Gaza because the organization presents a major challenge to its political control of food in the enclave. Jordan dispatches fifth humanitarian convoy to Gaza in 10 days

AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) on Thursday sent a new humanitarian aid convoy to Gaza, intensifying its relief efforts amid the deepening humanitarian crisis in the besieged Strip. Organized in cooperation with World Central Kitchen and the World Food Programme (WFP), the convoy consists of 50 trucks carrying essential food items, including flour and infant formula. The supplies are part of ongoing response to the severe shortages of food and basic necessities faced by residents in Gaza. According to a JHCO statement, the shipment also includes ingredients used to prepare hot meals distributed by World Central Kitchen teams in Gaza, as well as large quantities of grains and cooking oil intended to support thousands of families in need, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. This latest convoy marks the fifth coordinated delivery of humanitarian aid from Jordan in partnership with international organizations within a 10-day span. A total of 147 trucks were sent in the previous four convoys. On Wednesday, a separate convoy of 36 trucks entered the war-torn Strip through the Zikim border crossing, after World Central Kitchen facilitated the entry and distribution of supplies.
